Niall Horan performed for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2017″ in a pre-taped segment that aired during the show on Saturday. Watch the video below!
Horan pre-recorded his performance of “This Town” from the Billboard Hollywood Party. The festive event was once again hosted by Fergie, who has served as the presenter of the West Coast “New Year’s Rockin Eve” concert segments for the past few years. The rest of the special’s Los Angeles lineup included Shawn Mendes, Emeli Sande, Lukas Graham, and Fifth Harmony. Fergie herself was to perform two songs as well.
As Gossip Cop reported, Horan also performed on last year’s New Year’s Eve special, but was joined by the rest of One Direction for that gig. And while that was also pre-taped, the broadcast marked the last time fans have gotten to see the group perform together, as they’ve been on hiatus ever since. In the ensuing months, Horan has carved out a career as a solo artist, and is expected to release an album in 2017.
As for “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” a number of artists were also slated to perform live from Times Square prior to the ball dropping. Those who were scheduled to take the stage in New York City included Mariah Carey, DNCE, Thomas Rhett and Gloria Estefan with the cast of her Broadway musical On Your Feet! Ryan Seacrest hosted the East Coast celebration, along with Jenny McCarthy. Gossip Cop has video of Horan’s performance below!
