One Direction kicked off “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest” on Wednesday with a performance on “What Makes You Beautiful.” They later sang “Steal My Girl,” “Story Of My Life,” “Night Changes,” and “Little Things” (videos below). The special, pre-taped performance aired as part of the broadcast’s West Coast celebrations at the Billboard Hollywood Party, hosted by Fergie. Watch below!
As the clock ticked down to midnight, Harry Styles tweeted, “To everyone who has worked with us and supported us this year, thank you so much. We’re incredibly grateful for everything you’ve done.” He added, “Be nice to everyone and do it five minutes early. Hope everyone has a lovely new year. Thank you for an amazing 2014. All the love .x.”
2014 has been huge for One Direction. After performing sold-out shows worldwide, the Where We Are Tour was declared the year’s highest-grossing tour. The group released their fourth album in four years, appropriately called, Four. And in December alone they appeared on “The Tonight Show” and “Saturday Night Live,” and also had their very first primetime U.S. television special.
The last 12 months were filled with lots of music and one movie (a concert film released in October), a few interviews and priceless live streams, and lots and lots of Twitter trends. In fact, Directioners had #1D2014Highlights trending on and off throughout Wednesday. It’s all led to this, their final performance of 2014. Check out the video below!
