It was announced just two weeks ago that Lopez was added to the lineup of NBC’s special, which was also set to feature Alicia Keys, Blake Shelton, and Pentatonix. Lopez’s performance was pre-taped at one of her “Jennifer Lopez: All I Have” shows at the AXIS Theater in Planet Hollywood. She wrapped up her fourth leg of the residency earlier this month, and will be back on stage in February.
Interestingly, the singer-actress was actually supposed to ring in 2017 with a performance in Miami. But, as Gossip Cop reported, just last week Lopez canceled her night club appearance, a gig for which she was allegedly going to be paid $1 million. She opted to pass on the event in favor of “some personal and family time,” as a source told Gossip Cop.
While that likely means Lopez will be spending part of the holiday with her kids, she’s also become a big part of the NBC family over the last year. She starred on the police drama “Shades Of Blue,” which will return for a second season next year. It was also announced in July that Lopez would spearhead a new competition show for NBC called “World Of Dance,” and then it was revealed in October that she’ll star in the network’s “Bye Bye Birdie Live!”
Both of those projects are slated for 2017, too, and Gossip Cop just busted a false report wrongly claiming the musical had been canceled. On the contrary, it’s still moving ahead, and Lopez will be as busy as ever in the months to come. Gossip Cop has video of the New Year’s performance below!
