Alicia Keys gave a special performance for Saturday’s 2017 “New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly.” Watch below!
Keys was one of several top artists lined up for NBC’s annual year-ending event. In addition to the singer, fellow “Voice” coach Blake Shelton was also set to participate, as were Pentatonix and Jennifer Lopez. And, for the first time, Daly was joined by Mel B as his co-host.
Keys is coming off yet another successful year. She released new music, the songs “In Common” and “Hallelujah” early in 2016. That led to a May gig as a musical guest on “Saturday Night Live,” where she performed both tracks. Less than 10 days later, Keys also performed “In Common” on “The Voice.”
A few months prior, in March, it was announced that Keys had joined the NBC competition as a coach alongside veterans Shelton and Adam Levine, along with fellow newbie Miley Cyrus. Their season, the show’s 11th, began airing in September. That coincided with Keys scoring her own “Today” show concert.
In November, Keys’ sixth studio album, Here, was released, peaking at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and going all the way to number one on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and the Top R&B Albums charts. Keys returned to the “Today” show for another performance in December, and also performed a standout duet with Andra Day on “Taraji’s White Hot Holidays” special.
In 2017, Keys will be back in her red chair for another spin as a “Voice” coach. As for “New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly,” the songtress previously performed on the 2008 special. Gossip Cop has the new video below!
