A Marine proposed to his girlfriend on-air during the live broadcast of “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve with Ryan Seacrest.” It happened after the ball dropped when co-host Jenny McCarthy was on the streets of Times Square asking “stragglers” what their New Year’s resolutions were (video below).
McCarthy went up to a number of Marines, dressed in full uniform, along with a few women. As she went from person to person asking what their New Year’s resolutions were, McCarthy received various answers. One Marine said his resolution was to “keep looking good,” while the woman next to him just resolved to “stay happy” in 2015. Another woman vowed to “finish my degree.” Meanwhile, a Marine named Anthony said he was setting the goal of running “three miles in 18 minutes.”
Then, McCarthy asked another young woman named Haley from North Carolina what her resolution was, and she answered to “live every day as if it were the last.” After her, a Marine who identified himself as Michael, he said his resolution was “actually to marry” Haley. He then dropped down to one knee, and presented her with a ring in a box.” Following Haley screaming “What,” Michael then asked, “Will you marry me?” to which she said, “Yes.”
Haley and Michael then kissed and hugged, and were joined in their hug by McCarthy, who yelled, “Congratulations!” Check out the video below, and share your thoughts. NOTE: The video is no longer available.
